#DefendBlackWomen Community Virtual Altar Build: Honoring Sonya Massey

The call continues. In 2016, Black Feminist Future led a call to action for a rise of altars to Defend Black Womanhood in response to police murders of Black women(cis and trans) and girls. Twenty-six community altars were built across the country to honor our dead and commit to fighting for the living. In 2021, Ma’Khia Bryant gathered us again as her young life was cut short due to police violence. Today, we answer to our beloved partner, In Our Names Network, and ask our comrades to participate in the virtual altar building for Sonya Massey.
