Delaware, Ohio Free America Weekend

CELEBRATE FREEDOM.
Independence Day is about the fight for freedom. The American Revolution was a stand against tyranny and kings. That same spirit has lived on—from the Boston Tea Party to the Underground Railroad, from Stonewall to the Civil Rights Movement.
America is in crisis. Real democracy is slipping away. The freedom of many Americans to choose who they love, express their beliefs, or even their right to live in the country is in trouble.
This July 5th, while the U.S. marks Independence Day weekend, we’ll gather in Delaware, Ohio to stand for a vision of a Free America ruled by We the People not kings, tyrants, or billionaires. An America where your right to due process is not predicated on the color of your skin, religion, or immigration status and is extended to all without qualifications or conditions as promised in our Constitution and Bill of Rights.. An America where we care for our veterans who have risked and given so much on our behalf, not an America that strips them of their healthcare, leaves them homeless, or deports them and their family. And most of all an America that values kindness, empathy, and mercy towards all in our community and sees these qualities as a virtue not a vice.
This July 5th peacefully gather with us from 12pm to 1pm at the corners of William and Sandusky Streets in Delaware, Ohio as we celebrate our freedom from tyrants and kings. As you arrive, please be mindful of our local farmers market, which runs from 9AM to 12PM, and avoid congregating in front of their stalls by gathering in front of the Hayes statue and waiting for protest marshals to direct you to other street corners. The dream of American freedom belongs to all of us, and we will not stop in our pursuit of its promise, now or ever.
