WHAT TO BRING:
We encourage signs of all kinds addressing the many issues arising
from the authoritarian takeover of our country. Also, lots of
American flags will demonstrate that We the People will not consent
to the rule of a wannabe dictator and his cohorts co-opting our
democratic republic and the flag for which it stands.
Water or other hydrating liquid
Appropriate footwear
Dress for the weather
Your patriotism, courage, and determination to end the authoritarian
takeover of your country. If you ever wondered what you might have
done in Nazi Germany when the government was kidnapping your
neighbors and imprisoning them in concentration camps, it is what
you are doing now.
A FEW SAFETY REMINDERS:
1. No Violence! Ours is a peaceful and legal assembly. The right to
assemble and to peacefully protest on public property is protected by the
U.S. Constitution.
2. If we encounter anyone who challenges our right to peacefully protest,
wants to argue, or gets into our personal space, we stay calm and do not
engage. We just walk away.
3. If one of us is physically threatened, we call 911 and turn on our phones’
cameras (video if possible). We record the person’s image and behavior.
We try to stay calm, keep a safe distance, and try not to engage. We have
the right to take photos/videos in a public place.
4. Please be mindful of vehicle traffic for your and others’ safety. Stay clear
of passing vehicles on the roadway and stay on the sidewalks or within
pedestrian crosswalks. Keep signs and flags out of roadway.
5. Make way for pedestrians needing to travel on the sidewalks.
Let's keep our rally peaceful, safe, legal, and orderly.
Reach out if you have any questions and help us spread the word among
like-minded patriots. We look forward to seeing you there!
*OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
Defenders of Democracy Cochise County (DODCC) is a grassroots nonpartisan
movement with the goal of defending our democratic republic. We help plan and
organize peaceful public events with the overall goal of helping to end the authoritarian
takeover of the United States of America by raising awareness of this antidemocratic
movement.
We want to be part of an antiauthoritarian movement in this country to stop the abuses
to individual liberty and the common resources of We the People that such a takeover
involves. Our view is that solutions to many of the problems facing our county and
planet are virtually impossible to achieve under an authoritarian regime. Thus, we are
focused on encouraging and inviting people of diverse backgrounds to unite with us
under the common-cause umbrella of terminating the authoritarian movement.
Nonetheless, we discourage behavior and messaging at events that detract from this
common cause. We certainly do not condone violence. While we cannot control those
participating in our organized events, we dissuade participants from creating
distractions that weaken the solidarity of our coalition or prevent others from joining us
in the overall goal of defending democracy and turning back the authoritarian takeover
of our country.
