Freedom "Thursday" ---NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW!!!

Three years ago, Trump incited and encouraged his hateful MAGA followers to lead a Violent Insurrection at our US Capitol. He’s running for President again and has said that he will be a Dictator, at least on Day One.
On Thursday, April 25th, SCOTUS begins hearing oral arguments to determine whether or not Trump is immune from prosecution for his participation in attempting to overturn the 2020 election, which IS a federal crime.
Join us on Thursday, April 25th, beginning at NOON, at the Williamsburg James City County Courthouse, located at 5201 Monticello Avenue, Williamsburg. We will begin our rally with a Moment of Silence for those that lost their lives or were injured on January 6th, then holds signs that scream that NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW!!!
Why do we keep emphasizing January 6th? The actions that day hold great significance for our Country, for it was a dark day that already lives in infamy in our history books. It’s still an active crime scene. It’s also a reminder of both the fragility and the resilience of our democratic institutions, including the JUDICIARY!

This rally is another opportunity to show that the Indivisible movement is going to be right there fighting for our democracy. Indivisible was made for this moment - we beat Trump once, and we’re going to do it again. We cannot be complacent and we are calling for an end to the ongoing violent and criminal attacks on our freedoms. We must protect our elections by protecting voters, election officials, and a free and fair process. WE MUST ACT!!!
As with our previous events, the same rules apply. We will not engage with counter-protesters. If an issue arises, please notify one of the event organizers, who will be wearing Williamsburg JCC Indivisible t-shirts. We will not engage in any acts of violence or violation of any applicable laws or engage in civil disobedience. All actions will be peaceful. Everyone participating in this event will be required to behave lawfully to ensure the safety of event participants and will seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. We will obey the orders of authorized event marshals and law enforcement authorities. Event organizers will not be responsible for any injury or damage if any were to occur during this event. We will park in the Courthouse parking lot without blocking access lanes and will remove any trash that is left.
Please remember that COVID is still with us and it is the middle of flu season. Your health, and that of those around you, is especially important. We are committed to maintaining public health measures to practice safe protesting during these times. Wear a mask and socially distance if that makes you more comfortable - weigh your own risk in attending. Follow all local safety guidelines at minimum, and any safety instructions from hosts that exceed local law.
