Good Trouble Lives On - Stoughton, MA

GOOD TROUBLE LIVES ON
The Good Trouble Lives On protest is a demonstration for July 17, 2025. The name of the protest is based on the term "good trouble" coined by American politician and civil rights leader John Lewis, who died on July 17, 2020.
"March in Peace. Act in Power. "

America is in crisis. Real democracy feels out of reach. Freedom is in trouble.

July 17 (Anniversary of the death of John Lewis) is a day to demonstrate, support, protest, and acknowledge the work, memory and legacy of John Lewis.

Freedom is in TROUBLE. This is a day to stand up and show what GOOD TROUBLE will accomplish. THIS IS YOUR INVITATION TO TAKE IT BACK.

Your freedom. Your people. Your rebellion.

From cities to suburbs to small towns, we’ll gather however and wherever we can!
  • We'll gather in peace to protest as a sign of GOOD TROUBLE.
  • We'll take the streets for GOOD TROUBLE.
  • We'll display to the community our murals, posters and songs about our vision of GOOD TROUBLE.
  • We'll occupy this space joyfully—with dancing, costumes, music, chants,  conversation.

They want us scared, divided, and alone. They don’t want us to dream about freedom. But that’s exactly what we have to do.

This July 17th we will be in the streets with songs of freedom and joy. The dream of American freedom belongs to all of us, and we will not stop in our pursuit of its promise, now or ever.
