Anti-AI Art Show
Art is for everyone! Please join 50501-Houston, Communities At Work (CAW), and Cat Ladies for America (CLFA)-Space City Chapter for an exciting, people-centered art show, where we showcase the variety, idiosyncrasy, and exceptionality of *human* artistry from across the Houston area. We are spotlighting art as protest against the ubiquity, slop, and destruction of generative AI and corporate greed undermining the fabric of our culture, society, democracy, and planet.
Come to connect with fellow resisters, make new friends through art-sharing, community, and collective resistance against forces working to deprecate civil liberties and human creativity. You may gift tips in appreciation for artwork or donations in exchange for gifted artwork at each artist's discretion. We’ll be ending the night with a raffle you won’t want to miss! The prize is a one-of-a-kind collection of artwork donated by amazing local organizations and talented artists. 🎨🖌️ Bring some cash, join in the fun, and you just might head home with a masterpiece (or two)! Every dollar raised will fuel the protest and strengthen our collective voice.
Artists: Please contact our host if you are an artist interested in showcasing your work. We can accommodate many mediums and will provide a registration form for artists to complete upon request. You may opt to receive tips in appreciation for your work and/or established donation amounts in exchange for gifted artwork at each artist's discretion.
National Messaging:
As the United States braces for extreme heat, wildfires, and hurricanes, the Trump administration just rammed through a mega-bill defunding our communities to give handouts to billionaires. They’re dismantling our democracy, attacking immigrants, and feeding the war profiteers. The attacks on our people are directly tied to the attacks on our planet. The billionaire fascists are hoarding resources and leaving working class communities across the globe to face the impacts of the extreme weather and rising seas.
Among Trump's billionaire buddies, a handful of Big Oil & Gas executives are raking in profits while the rest of us pay the price of rising costs, toxic pollution, and worsening climate disasters.
All across the world, authoritarian regimes are on the rise but people are fighting back. We are uniting across the world to demand a better future for our communities and for all living beings.
