Idaho Women's March
Idaho has some of the most draconian abortion laws in the nation, criminalizing doctors, patients. It is even a felony to drive a woman across the border to receive an abortion in another state. Idaho has a higher maternal death rate that Nicarauga and the Idaho is the only state that does not track infant/maternal deaths through the Maternal Mortality Review Committee (MMRC) which was ended by the legislature in 2023.
Women in Idaho are gathering the 20th of January in solidarity with women across the country to remind our nation what we value. We recognize that we are not full citizens of our nation, that it is legal to discriminate on account of sex and that our justice system, our federal government and specifically our state legislature has decided that they know better about our plans and our health than we do. We want liberty, justice and freedom. We don’t want to ask for permission to travel, we want our medical information to be private and we want our medical providers to be free to follow the most evidence based scientific responses for our individual specific needs. We will be heard! We stand for all people who have been diminished by voices that would rather have us silenced. We owe this to our foremothers and we do it for the generations that will follow our footprints.
