La Crosse, WI: Community Block Party
La Crosse will be having a community block party partnering with local non-profits and businesses to spread knowledge about different programs as well as some fun democracy based carnival games for the little ones. We will also be collecting donations for The Wafer Food Pantry! Due to the cuts, we would like to push for things like peanut butter, canned meats, and non-perishable dairy products, however all items will be accepted and encouraged. This is a family friendly event and will be happening on June 15th at Riverside Park.
Organizer and strategist Daniel Hunter has written that “Humor is important for our psyches — and to take fascists down a notch[…] Humor is key for morale and exposing the vulnerability of the strongman image.” This is where the ridiculous meets the resistance—and where the future is on the line.
