Last Try for the FULL NY4ALL Act! Dutchess / Poughkeepsie May 29

No Pol(ICE) Collusion! New Yorkers United for NY4All

This Friday, May 29 at 4:30 – 5:15 PM, join us in Poughkeepsie near Vassar College (public sidewalk)
as part of the New York for All Coalition’s coordinated statewide day of action.

Across New York, coalition partners, community organizations, faith groups, Indivisible chapters, immigrant justice advocates, and allies are coming together with one message:
Finish the Job. Pass NY4All.

We are having a last rally in collaboration with the NY4ALL Coalition and NYIC to tell Hochul: Sign the FULL NY4ALL Act! The legislative votes are easily there, but she will veto it. Her watered-down version only addresses a tiny piece of the issue. We wish she has the courage of her NYers or her neighbor, Mikie Sherrill.

Protecting families, standing up to bullies, and Freeing America are all very clear calls to action for our Feminist-led Future Vision for America. Come out your energy to work to get the job done!

The NYS Legislative session is nearly complete (June 4th).
Our Governor is subverting the legislature due to her fear of Federal invasion.

New Yorkers have shown over the past months - and this week in supporting our NJ neighbors at Delaney Hall - that we WILL stand up! Hochul needs to be leading us, not hiding behind us.

Hochul leaves out ban on personal and professional sharing of data and cooperation between ALL NYS agents/agencies, ban on NYS agencies providing custody for Federal agencies like ICE, a sanctuary environment as supported by the vast majority of NYers.

Her weak offering is also just a temporary governor's policy action vs a state law, which means it is easily reversed by a future governor.

For more background, you can see a NYCLU-created document of differences between the actual NY4ALL Act and Hochul’s very-limited version she is pushing at https://www.nyclu.org/resources/policy/one-pagers/the-new-york-for-all-act-vs-governor-hochuls-local-cops-local-crimes-bill
And another version by one of our colleagues (explains What we Gained/What was Carved Out by Hochul) in our work-in-progress resources folder: https://drive.proton.me/urls/Q1VB4XMJRG#QGRwqQ5CBZHm

Join us outside of Vassar on Raymond Avenue in Poughkeepsie (on the outside sidewalk near the tennis courts) between the big and small traffic circles, from June 05 from 4:30 - 5:15. Bring your signs telling Hochul to pass NY4ALL in-full, or similar themes. Address is across the street from 165 College Ave (The Heartwood) by the Vassar tennis courts on the public sidewalk.

We are not only speaking up in Dutchess/Poughkeepsie, but our words and pictures are going to the NY4ALL Coalition to include with the dozens of other groups across NYS speaking up on the weekend of May 29.

More info on the issue and why it is still an issue despite an entire Legislative session (six months)

The recently negotiated immigration budget package made important progress — including ending formal 287(g) agreements and advancing major wins for Dignity Not Detention and other protections. But the core problem of collusion between local/state law enforcement and ICE/CBP remains unresolved.

Ending formal agreements is an important step, but it is not enough.

New Yorkers still need clear protections that fully prohibit local and state law enforcement collaboration with ICE and CBP in all its forms. Families should not fear that a traffic stop, routine interaction, or call for help could lead to detention, deportation, or family separation.

That’s why we are rallying before the legislative session ends to urge Governor Hochul and the Legislature to return to Albany and finish the job by passing the New York for All Act (S2235/A3506).

Join us at Poughkeepsie Vassar College sidewalk (near College Ave traffic circle) and raise your voice:
●     NO LOOPHOLES
●     NO COLLUSION WITH ICE
●     PASS NY4ALL NOW

Bring signs. Bring friends. Bring your voice.

Together, we can demand real protections for immigrant New Yorkers and their families.

No loopholes. No collusion with ICE. Pass NY4All now.
