In the last election, it was not people's intention that families lose their medical care, be ripped apart by federal agents, farmers lose their markets and go bankrupt, fear for their lives if they go to work or shop to buy basic needs; that our National Guard troops be subject to illegal and immoral job conditions; our veterans and elderly abandoned and left wanting.
Authoritarian regimes are on the rise but people are fighting back. We are uniting across the world to demand a better future for our communities and for all living beings. Brattleboro will be a part of these non-violent demonstrations across the US in collaboration with Make Billionaires Pay and Blackout the System.
On Sept. 20, the United Nations General Assembly and Climate Week will bring together world leaders. On the last day of the 5 day economic blackout protest, 9/16 to 9/20 https://blackoutthesystem.com/ the Make Billionaires Pay event will be an inflection point in an ever growing rebellion against fascist billionaires trying to take control of our government and extract as much profit from our communities as possible.
Contact Congress here in VT and in multiple states to stand in solidarity on the budget vote and shut down Congress on Sept 30. The Democrats have the power to stop the budget vote which will cripple fellow Americans: Democrats will be blamed no matter what happens so tell them to use their power to stand up for this country and against the atrocious policies in the Big Bogus Bill.
