On this day in 1866, the first May Day was celebrated when over 300,000 workers took to the streets in Chicago to demand better working conditions during the Industrial Revolution.

Now in 2025, we are still fighting for our rights & the real power is still in the hands of the working class. What started out as workers demanding better working conditions is now a demand for economic justice, fair wages, workers’ rights, and the dismantling of systems that prioritize corporate profits over human well-being.
