Food banks are struggling after the USDA cut $1 billion dollars from their budget for supporting food banks. The prices of groceries have gone up at a time when people need the extra help. Add to that the need for school supplies coming up for the new school year. Do parents choose between food and school supplies? Where does this leave the students? Studies have shown that lack of school supplies can lead to increased truancy and behavior issues.
Friday, July 4th from 10am to Noon at the NewSouth Bookstore help us gather food and school supply items to fill a need in the community.
