Morgantown WV Free America Walkout and Sign Waving (NEW TIME 1:00PM - 3:00PM)

***UPDATE: Due to freezing temperatures, the walkout has changed. We will gather outside of the Mountain Lair starting around 1:00PM, so that we can all march to the courthouse for hot cocoa and speeches. We will be leaving the Lair at 1:40, so please come early to form a crowd! ❤️

The No Kings Morgantown March brought thousands to the streets of Downtown in 2025. Now, The Free America Walkout will be a promise. In the face of fascism, we will be ungovernable.

Trump's second regime has showed us that the fear of fascism is now a reality. We are watching raids on our communities, troops occupying our cities, families torn apart, innocent lives being taken. West Virginia has lost one of its own National Guards, and we will not escape the dangers that other states are facing for long. This isn't just a call to end Trumps regime, this is an opportunity for West Virginian's be our own representatives. Call on your coworkers, teammates, classmates, and neighbors, and bring your best signs.

We will enjoy hot cocoa, music, and speeches in the front of the Mountain Lair and walk together to the Downtown Courthouse at 1:40PM to join Mountaineers Indivisible Citizen Action and hear their speakers ❤️ ❄️.

The Free America Walkout in Morgantown will not tolerate any violence, however we understand the fragile state of the laws that protect us from it. 

If you are a Morgantown resident, and you are afraid to protest due to your safety, or your family's. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. We see you and we will represent you. No one should feel obligated to attend a protest event that threatens their safety, especially for our friends of color. 

For those of us who can protest without fear, now is our moment to use our voices.
