MOVED TO SUNDAY!! Women’s Rights Protest in Columbia, SC

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE: Event moved to Sunday, June 25th, same time, same place. Our voices have already been heard, and an anti-abortion rally has been organized at the State House just before our event was supposed to take place on Saturday; so for the sake of Safety, we are moving the event to SUNDAY, the very next day, at 12pm at the State House.
It’s been One Year since Roe vs. Wade was overturned and women were stripped of our constitutional rights. On the anniversary of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization ruling, at 12 PM we will mobilize at The South Carolina State House, to shine a spotlight on this case and the deep fractures in our democracy that it has exposed.
In the year since Dobbs, 14 states have banned abortion outright. Several more have passed or plan to pass legislation banning abortion before most women know they’re pregnant.
We will not allow protest or freedom of speech to be killed. We will not become bystanders while the most vulnerable among us are targeted by the most powerful.
We call on all elected leaders to:
Defend and protect access to safe abortion, including medication abortion. Side with the future and against discriminatory laws and bans that strip away our rights and take us backwards.
We call on Congress to:
Take immediate steps to reform the Judicial Branch to fix our antiquated, compromised judicial system before the situation gets even worse.
We are STILL the resistance. Women have a right to safe healthcare. Come stand with us, let your voice be heard. Together, we will win.
