NJ Latinx Reproductive Health Access Survey Investigation Report Back in New Brunswick, NJ.

On behalf of The Abortion Justice Committee of New Jersey (AJCNJ) and The Latino Action Network Foundation (LANF), we are excited to invite you to join us for the presentation of our investigative survey titled "Access and Opinions on Reproductive Health Care and Abortion among the Latinx Immigrant Community in New Jersey." This report, created in collaboration with LANF, evaluates the accessibility of reproductive health services for the Latinx and undocumented community.

The report will reveal the results of a community-led survey on reproductive health, capturing the attitudes and accessibility of various general reproductive health services for Latinx immigrants. A total of 737 community members participated in the survey. AJCNJ created the survey, trained approximately 35 health promoters, and conducted in-person surveys every week from March 2023 to August 2023, with support from LANF. After almost two years of dedicated work, we are ready to present our findings.

The report serves as a call to action. Reproductive health is not accessible for undocumented and Latinx people in NJ. Our survey found that 69% of Latinx and undocumented New Jerseyans do not know abortion is legal. These results are nothing short of a code red. New Jersey will never be a leader in reproductive rights until Latinx communities have the same access as wealthy New Jerseyans.
