No CONSENT? No ICE!

WHY WE ARE UNITING

Sheriff Jones of Butler County has been a faithful partner of the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.  Immigrants from the Greater Cincinnati Area, and the Dayton Area, etc. have been seized without charges being filed and detained in the Butler County Jail.  Sherriff Jones recently celebrated the fact that several of his men have been deputized as ICE Agents.

A local government official has said that Clermont County will "probably" follow the lead of Butler County.  Officers in the Clermont County Sheriff's department will "probably" be deputized to serve in the capacity of Federal ICE Agents. The Clermont County Jail will "probably" serve as an ICE Detainment facility in the near future. And our county leadership doesn't see the need to seek public feedback on this use of county resources because they don't want people to yell at them.

CELEBRATE OUR HISTORY OF RESISTANCE

Independence Day is about the fight for freedom. The American Revolution was a stand against tyranny and kings. That same spirit has lived on—from the Boston Tea Party to the Underground Railroad, from Stonewall to the Civil Rights Movement.

This July 4th weekend we will gather at 11:00 am at the Clermont County Municipal Courthouse to honor this holiday by reading from a different foundational document each day and to demand that our county resources not be used for federal purposes without the explicit consent of a majority of Clermont County residents.
