{Oneonta } Free America Walkout

One year into Trump’s second regime, we face an escalating fascist threat: raids on our communities, troops occupying our cities, attacks on immigrants, families torn apart, mass surveillance, and terror used to keep us silent.  It is time for our communities to escalate as well. I am calling on all Hartwick College students, all SUNY Oneonta students and Otsego residents to join us in walking out of our classes and jobs and assembling peacefully downtown to make our voices heard!

I was absolutely disgusted watching the videos of Renee Good and how she was wrongly killed by an ICE officer. I am putting this event together to show our community leaders that they need to respond accordingly to such brazen violence on American citizens and publicly denounce ICE actions and make Oneonta an ICE-FREE ZONE. 5 of our neighbors, our friends, our coworkers were kidnapped by ICE over the past year, and we must do everything we can to make sure that no more are taken!!

On January 20, we call on our communities to organize teams, call your neighbors and classmates, and turn your back and walk out on fascism. This event will coincide directly with the one year anniversary of Trumps 2nd term and MLK day. We must take this opportunity to tell as many people as we can that enough is enough! We cannot live in a democracy without due process and laws, or we are a dictatorship!
