Kankakee People's March

We are joining the nationwide People's March in downtown Kankakee at 1:00 pm.  
After we gather for some words from a few organizations, we will take a group photo and march in front of the Kankakee County Courthouse.  There is plenty of street parking around the courthouse.  

Feel free to bring signs or email [email protected] with any questions.  We have some signs and markers at the office at River and Schuyler that you can use. The office will be open from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm.  Please email us if you want to stop by to make a sign before the event so we can enough materials for everyone.  

Please wear a couple of layers to keep warm and bring your spirit of friendship and rights for all.  Afterwards, some of us will go to Paul's Place for soup.  They are located at 500 S Washington, Kankakee IL 60901. We expect the rally to end at 2:00 pm.

We all march for different reasons, but we march for the same cause: to defend our rights and our future. 

If you believe that decisions about your body should remain yours, that books belong in libraries, not on bonfires, that healthcare is a right, not a privilege for the wealthy; if you believe in the power of free speech and protest to sustain democracy; or if you want an economy that works for the people who power it—then this march is for you.

The People’s March is about one thing: our power.

This is our moment to remind Washington elites — and Americans everywhere — where the power truly lives: with the people.
