PEOPLE'S MARCH IN KEENE, NH
All are Welcome!
What? A downtown march and rally supporting our Democracy and our Freedoms - Reproductive Freedom, Voting Rights, Civil Rights, Women's Rights, LGBTQ+ Rights, and the Right to Clean Air, Clean Water, and a Livable Planet, among others.
When? Saturday, January 18, 2025. We will come together to march at 1 PM. We expect our rally at Central Square will end between 2:30 and 3 PM. Those who prefer to skip the march are encouraged to show up at Central Square at 1:30 PM.
Where? Gather at 229 Main Street by the Keene State College Appian Way Gate, next to Rhodes Hall. From there we will march about 1/2 mile north on sidewalks to Central Square, where we will wave our signs, enjoy music, and celebrate that we are not alone in our efforts to protect cherished freedoms. If possible, bring a sign which highlights a threatened freedom which matters to you.
Note: Safety is our top priority. We will walk north toward Central Square on sidewalks and adjacent grassy areas. At intersections we will cross the street in crosswalks, avoiding disruptions to traffic flow onto or off Main Street. We will be in no hurry to get to Central Square. We intend to be law-abiding, respectful and kind to downtown shoppers, diners, business owners, and to individuals who may disagree with the messages on our signs. While the First Amendment guarantees our freedom of speech, and our right to assemble peaceably, it also guarantees the same rights to those who don't agree with us.
