People's March for Equality and Women’s Rights - Jacksonville FL

Welcome and thank you for coming!

Please read this description in its entirety as it provides details of the event and FAQs.

If you believe that decisions about your body should remain yours, that books belong in libraries, not on bonfires, that healthcare is a right, not a privilege for the wealthy; if you believe in the power of free speech and protest to sustain democracy; or if you want an economy that works for the people who power it—then this march is for you.

  • We march to unite the people who’ve been the backbone of resistance for generations—and to welcome even more.
  • We march to show that we will not be silenced.
  • We march to inspire, energize, and drive change long after the day is done.
  • We march on this particular day as it is the weekend before the dreadful inauguration day.

This march will start at the address provided, which is at the corner of San Pablo Rd and Beach Blvd. We are still working out the details of a brief rally before we head out, but we promise a good time and inspirational vibes! We will make our way west on Beach Blvd until we reach Tamaya Blvd (approximately 3 miles). There, we will cross over to the opposite side of Beach Blvd and head back to the original starting point for a total of about 6 miles.

A: Absolutely not! This is a free, peaceful, and inclusive event open to everyone who supports equality. All you need to bring is your passion and your voice to join the movement!

Q: Who can join?

A: The People’s March is for EVERYONE! No matter your age, race, gender, sexuality, or background, you are welcome here.

Q: What should I bring?

A: Bring your essentials to stay comfortable and show your support:
     - Weather appropriate clothing and comfy walking shoes
     - Signs with your message for equality and hope (get creative!)
     - Water to stay hydrated
     - And, most importantly, your energy and determination to march for what’s           right.

Q: Is this a deaf-friendly event?

A: Yes, absolutely! We are proud to make this event accessible to everyone. An ASL interpreter will be available for all general announcements and speeches to ensure everyone can participate fully. If further accommodations need to be made, please reach out to Rachel Zavala at [email protected] and we will do our best to fulfill your request.

Q: What if I can’t make the full 6 miles?

A: No problem at all! This march is all about participation—join us for as much or as little as you can. You’re welcome to hop on or off the route at any time. We’ll be marching on sidewalks, so it’s flexible for everyone.

Q: Is this event wheelchair accessible?

A: Yes! The entire march will take place on sidewalks, making it fully accessible for those using wheelchairs, walkers, or strollers.

Q: Will there be restrooms?

A: Unfortunately, there won’t be public restrooms along the route, so please plan accordingly before you arrive.

Q: How can I get involved?

A: We’d love to have you involved in any way you can! Whether you’d like to volunteer, help spread the word, or support the event, just reach out to Nevena  at [email protected]. Every bit of help makes a huge difference in making this event impactful and inspiring!

Q: What’s the difference between the Women’s March and the People’s March?

A: Great question! The name “People’s March” reflects a broader, more inclusive movement—a call to community and unity. This is your chance to be part of something bigger—a movement of hope, resilience, and equality for ALL PEOPLE.

The time frame is just an estimate, but please arrive by 10am so we can get started with inspirational talks that will guarantee to push you through the march!

Please feel free to email me with any questions! Can't wait to see you all out there!

Note from your host:
As a first-time host of an event that's so important to me, I have been so inspired by the outpour of support. I signed up to host this event thinking it may end up being me and my few closest friends marching down Beach Blvd, but as the number of attendees grows, I am absolutely amazed, humbled and inspired! This event coming together in such a way of solidarity brings an abundance of hope after feeling so defeated after the recent election. Thank you to every single person for signing up and showing support, you are not alone! And neither am I!

In sisterhood and solidarity,
-Nev
