International Women's Day Solidarity Event ~ Brave Women

International Women’s Day (IWD) grew out of the labour movement in the early 20th century. In 1975, The United Nations started marking the event. The day is to highlight both the progress that has been made, but also to showcase the erosion of women’s rights across the world.
On March 8th, we gather at SE Belmont and César Chávez for a Honk & Wave solidarity event. Bring your signs, friends, and let's stand up to defend our rights, our bodies, our futures, and insist on nothing less than radical inclusion! Show up and inspire others to do the same, because courage is contagious (and it feels good too!).

All who support women’s and LGBTQIA2S+ rights are welcome and encouraged to join us. This space is inclusive of all marginalized communities. Here we believe that trans women are women. We are also mindful of the intersectionalities of gender and sexuality for those in our BIPOC community. Let’s lift the voices of those who are often not heard. No one is free until we are all free!
