Pottstown - Free America Weekend

Thank you for signing up for the “Free America” rally!! 

We will be gathering on the sidewalks at the “T” intersection of State & Wilson Streets at the Pottstown Plaza.

The shopping center’s parking lot is large, but carpooling is always recommended. If the parking lot is full, there is street parking available but does require some walking. Please observe any parking signs so you are not ticketed or towed. 

Remember to bring your snacks, and stay hydrated. We will have some free bottled water available during the rally. 

The weather has been hot and unpredictable so dress accordingly and bring an umbrella or poncho just in case!

You may bring a folding chair if you would like to rest when needed. 

There will be some extra signs available to use during the event if you do not have your own. Please return them after the rally is finished so others may use them for future events. 

There will also be a craft table so you can make your own signs if we run out of ones to borrow during the rally.

Please be aware that counter - protesters may be at this event. Some of these folks are very pleasant and have joined us before without any issues while they exercise their 1st Amendment rights. Others however, are there to instigate or possibly incite violence. Do your best to ignore them. If they do confront anyone, do your best to deescalate the situation. Stay calm, use a low non-threatening tone and do not use sudden movements.

If there is an emergency, please call 9-1-1 and notify an event peacekeeper or myself of the situation. 

Also, this rally does not require a permit since this event is not a march and we will not be using the streets. Please follow all pedestrian traffic laws when using the crosswalks and remain on the sidewalks when protesting. Safety first!

Local Police will be making their rounds so expect their presence at different times during the event.

Please note: A core principle behind our “Free America” rally is a commitment to nonviolence in all we do. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

Independence Day is about the fight for freedom. The American Revolution was a stand against tyranny and kings. That same spirit has lived on—from the Boston Tea Party to the Underground Railroad, from Stonewall to the Civil Rights Movement.

This July 4th weekend, while the U.S. marks Independence Day, we’ll gather across the country—on porches, in town squares, backyards, and streets—to stand for real freedom and build a vision of a Free America brick by brick. 

We invite communities to create their own Free America events—rallies, marches, block parties, banner drops, street parades, art builds, backyard BBQs, dance protests, and more.

Your freedom. Your people. Your rebellion.
