South Laurel/ Konterra Overpass Free America Walkout
Are you ready? Over the last year many organizations have talked a lot about strategic non-cooperation and why it's a tool everyone needs to understand in this moment.
On Tuesday, you'll have a chance to experience it. We're calling on everyone who is sick of this administration's attacks on cities to leave work and rally with us, ready to go at 1:30 PM on Tuesday.

Leave work in the way that's right for you. If leaving work for two hours would endanger people or your livelihood, use your judgement about whether this is the right action for you. That said, most workers have tools we can use to leave work for short periods, including:
- Sick + Safe Leave - Maryland has it!
- Use sick or annual leave provided by your employer
- If your work schedule is flexible, flex it
Here in Laurel, Maryland we'll gather and walk to the Konterra Overpass of I-95. We will attach signs visible to traffic on I-95. We will wave signs to local traffic on Konterra Dr.

1) Starbucks at 4940 Silver Trail Lane (behind Wawa at Van Dusen & Konterra)
2) Near Konterra Tower at 14401 Sweitzer Lane (it's obvious once you exit at Konterra)
3) IF NEEDED overflow parking and a shuttle is available from Oseh Shalom, 7515 Olive Branch Way, Laurel, MD 20707.

The overpass set up:
- Northbound installation -- there is NO SIDEWALK for northbound traffic. We plan to position a car on the right shoulder with blinkers as we affix signs, banners and flags to the fence. Then we'll let the signs do the talking as we occupy the sidewalk across the street.
- Southbound installation -- this is our main spot. We will affix signs, banners & flags to the fence, plus wave any hand-held signs for southbound I-95 and all Konterra Dr. traffic.
Logistics notes:
- Dress warmly! It's going to be a cold day. We'll be actively waving signs on the overpass from 2-4 p.m.
- Bring warm beverages if needed, or meet me at Starbucks, ready to go at 1:30.
- I am bringing zip ties, string, wire, tape, scissors and a packing knife.
- At 4 p.m., we'll clean up before departing.

Parking will NOT be available on the overpass itself. We shuttle in the signs and banners, then walk to the overpass. Our goal is to be active from 2-4 p.m.
Park and walk:
1. Starbucks - Konterra Westside Shoppes, 14940 Silver Trail Lane (behind Wawa at Van Dusen & Konterra)
2. Near Konterra Tower on Sweitzer Lane (obvious once you exit at Konterra)
Both locations are a 5 minute walk to the overpass and shuttle volunteers have stepped up. Thank you Jack & Peter!
