Tucson Women’s March: In Loving Memory of lives lost to abortion bans
In honor of our time-honored cultural tradition “The All Souls Procession,” Tucson Women’s March will march together as a group in the procession on Sunday November 2, 2024.
We will meet at 4pm in front of Barista del Barrio.
Please read about the All Souls Procession if you haven’t participated before. The link to the procession page is below.
It is imperative that we are reverent to this tradition. To do this, we encourage everyone to dress in procession-appropriate attire, including Calavera face makeup and comfortable shoes.
Feel free to make and hold signs or candles honoring the lives of people we have lost to draconian abortion bans. This year, Amber Thurman and Candi Miller are two abortion ban victims we have heard about in the news. We know that as abortion bans have spread throughout the United States, too many of us know someone who died due to complications stemming from our inability to access safe reproductive health care.
On November 2, we will come together to grieve our losses. On November 5, we will take back our freedom at the polls.
