Virginia Beach Free America Protest March

CELEBRATE FREEDOM. IGNITE YOUR REBELLION!

Join us at the "Virginia Beach Free America March" from 5 to 8 pm on July 4th on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. This event is organized by Virginia Beach Mavericks, an Indivisible organization, and the Fourth of July march is part of the nationwide 50501 and Women's March Free America Weekend.  The plan is for protestors to carry their signs and march along the boardwalk between 16th and 33rd streets. Begin at the closest location to your parking, and move along the boardwalk south or north, turning around and heading in the opposite direction at 16th and 33rd. Yes, it will be crowded. Yes, parking will be hard. And no, we do not have a permit, and we will not have protest marshals or safety personnel. 

But it is essential to make our voices heard, especially on Independence Day. We must FREE AMERICA from the grip of greedy billionaires who rig the system for themselves, from arbitrary firings and a flood of unlawful orders, from poverty and the rigged system where the wealthy live large while the middle class foots the bill, and from the grip of hate and the politics of fear!

Independence Day is about the fight for freedom. The American Revolution was a stand against tyranny and kings. That same spirit has lived on—from the Boston Tea Party to the Underground Railroad, from Stonewall to the Civil Rights Movement.

This July 4th weekend, while the U.S. marks Independence Day, we’ll gather across the country—on porches, in town squares, backyards, and streets—to stand for real freedom and build a vision of a Free America brick by brick. 

They want us scared, divided, and alone. They don’t want us to dream about freedom. But that’s exactly what we have to do.

This Fourth of July, we will be on the boardwalk with songs of freedom and joy. The dream of American freedom belongs to all of us, and we will not stop in our pursuit of its promise, now or ever.
