Womxn's Day March

Join San Joaquin Valley Resistance 50501 and Women's March Central Valley to MARCH FOR HUMAN RIGHTS

Rise Together on International Women’s Day

Feminism is nothing if it isn’t intersectional. This International Women’s Day, we rise together—for women, for LGBTQ+ communities, for low-income workers, for people of all abilities, for every marginalized voice. Our fight is against racism, ableism, economic injustice, genocide, and fascism. Our liberation is bound together.

On this day we stand in solidarity with all women including women of color, women with disabilities, trans, indigenous, migrant, LGBTQIA+, Palestinian, Ukrainian, low-income women, women experiencing homelessness and every unique combination of these identities, united by our women hood and our goal to actively work toward dismantling systemic inequalities.
“I am not free while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own.” Audre Lorde

Why We March

This is more than just a protest—it’s a powerful movement. Our march is for:

  • Reproductive Justice: Advocating for the right to make decisions about our own bodies.
  • Equal Pay: Demanding fair compensation and economic equality for all women.
  • Safety: Ensuring a world where every woman can live without fear.
  • Freedom for all: We demand a world where no one is left behind.

FAQ
Why the x in womxn?

For around 15 years, this spelling has been used by intersectional feminists to symbolize inclusivity of various gender identities that experience womanhood. Some variation of replacing the “e” has been used since the 1970s (i.e. womyn) to challenge the notion that women are defined as an extension of men or by their relation to men.

Can I attend if I don’t identify as a womxn?

YES! Just like any group of people that have historically and/or are currently experiencing the repressive executive orders of the U.S. administration, this is a march for all people centered around women for International Women’s Day.

Do we have to march the whole way?

No. If you are unable or do not wish to march the entire length you can meet us at Riverpark and we will join you around 1:30-2! Alternatively you can meet us at any point along the route!

Where do we park?

Park where there are no signs posted about no parking. We encourage carpooling and alternative forms of transportation. There are city busses that leave from Riverpark every 15 minutes so you can hop on one to get back to where you parked. The cost is $1 and they only accept cash so keep that in mind.

How can I get involved?

DM us! We are hoping to build our network of volunteers including leaders and organizers and are open to all types of skills and abilities. There is a place for you in the resistance so just ask!
