Word 2 Ya Motha: Black Mama’s BailOut / KeepOut 2026 & Community Baby Shower
It's Bail Out season and we are preparing to bail Black Mama's out of jail in time for Mothers Day.
Join Reale Justice Network for our annual Word 2 Ya Motha—a powerful gathering centering Black mamas, caregivers, and families impacted by incarceration, family separation, and reproductive injustice.
Held during Black Mama’s Bail Out season, this event is part of a national movement to bring our people home, support families, and build community-based alternatives to harm.
This year, we are creating an immersive experience rooted in storytelling, healing, and collective care through three interconnected spaces:
Reproductive Justice Sensory Gallery
An immersive storytelling installation featuring the voices of 5 Heroic Black mamas and survivors. Experience audio stories in their own voices alongside personal images that reflect journeys through incarceration, family separation, loss, healing, and resilience.
Community Baby Shower
A space of love and material support for Black mamas and families.
Featuring:
baby supplies & essential items
gifts, raffles, and resources
food, refreshments, and community connection
Because our families deserve care—not criminalization.
🎤 Open Mic Creative Cypher
A live showcase of spoken word, music, and artistic expression.
This is where we:
tell our truths
honor our stories
and speak freedom into existence
Why We Gather. Every day, thousands of people—especially Black mamas—are jailed simply because they cannot afford bail. Even a short stay in jail can lead to loss of housing, employment, and custody of children.
At the same time, Black families are increasingly targeted by systems that criminalize pregnancy, parenting, and survival.
We reject the idea that cages create safety.
We know:
Community care keeps us safe.
Freedom is a collective responsibility.
Our Commitment
Through our Black Mama’s BailOut / KeepOut campaign, we are:
bailing Black mamas out of jail
providing support services and participatory defense
standing in the gap for families impacted by the system
fighting for bodily autonomy and family preservation
Rooted in the legacy of our ancestors, we continue the work of bringing our people home. Join Us.
Come for the art. Stay for the community. Leave with a deeper commitment to freedom.
Support the movement by attending, sharing, and contributing to our BailOut / KeepOut efforts.
