ACCESSIBILITY

The People’s March is committed to making this march and rally accessible. We are also dedicated to our goal of making all participants feel welcome, safe, heard, thought of, and cared for.

To make this possible, we have arranged an array of features we hope will satisfy the needs of many.

  • There will be an ADA meetup location at the Farragut Square kickoff location. If you need any mobility support or ASL interpretation on the march, please meet in the northwest quadrant of the square. The team will have signs that indicate they’re the Accessibility Team.

  • All volunteers, marshalls, and members of the de-escalation team will be trained to provide general support for folks with disabilities. There will be a dedicated team of volunteer marshals who can support march participants with any mobility needs.

  • American Sign Language interpretation will be provided on the march starting at the Farragut Square kickoff and on the stage at the Lincoln Memorial. There will also be live captions available in English and Spanish on the screens near the stage.

  • An ADA section will be located directly in front of the stage at the rally stage on the Washington Monument grounds. This area will have chairs, a direct line of site to our ASL interpreters on stage, as well as space for wheelchairs.

  • The Volunteer/ADA tent at the rally stage on the Washington Monument grounds will have masks, water, snacks, earplugs, and other support items available.

  • ADA compatible porta-potties will be available at the Kickoff Locations and the Lincoln Memorial.

  • Here are the march distances from each kickoff location to the Lincoln Memorial:

    • Farragut Square: 1.3 miles

    • McPherson Square: 1.6 miles

    • Franklin Park: 1.7 miles
